❉ Pollen is an art, science, & technology studio established by Atticus Sims and Michael Whittle in Kyoto in 2023. Our mission is to steer the latest scientific & technological advancements towards unexplored artistic and philosophical horizons.
The studio is named after a historical collection of philosophical fragments written by the luminary German thinker, scientist and poet Novalis, pen name of Friedrich von Hardenburg.
Pollen represents the essential, potent beginnings from which complexity can grow, much like how a tiny grain can catalyze the growth of an entire organism, or how a singular thought can unfold in to an elaborate philosophy.
